Channel 4 has confirmed that it has commissioned a second series of Games Master. This will follow on from the 2021 revival of the show following a lengthy 23 year hiatus.
The reboot of the series, which only consisted of 3 episodes, managed to attract over 152 million impressions. This was split between both their traditional E4 broadcast channel and online social media. Quite an impressive feat for a limited return of a niche 90s gaming show.
For the new series it appears that Channel 4 aims to attract new viewers to the show by making Games Master appeal to a broader audience. To achieve this aim the broadcaster will be “doubling down on the series’s success on social” and celebrating gaming culture as a whole.
Ahead of an official announcement, Channel 4 has yet to confirmed whether Sir Trevor McDonald will be returning as the titular Games Master. As well as the trio of presenters – Robert Florence, Frankie Ward and Ty Logan.
For those interested, the 2021 series can be viewed on E4’s YouTube channel for free.
