  2. I enjoyed your list, it was a great to reminisce on some Xbox greats.

I’ll add one of my personal favorites: Amped 2.

It was the anti SSX, and I loved it for that. The style points system was ahead of its time. Instead of going 50 metres in the air, spinning 3,000 degree rotations and 10 back flips; go 10 m into the air, do 1 rotation or flip smoothly, maybe with a grab, and nail a perfect landing for maximum points (the player missed out on style points if you spun too much). Nailing a perfect landing was pretty difficult.

This was also the game I used for ripping cds and playing my own soundtracks. The Transformers:the Movie (80’s version) made the game more fun! Try this game while listening to “Dare” as you go down the slopes.

The online was pretty simple but servicable. Go on any of the tracks with a bunch of people at the same time. Really captured the feel of snowboarding amongst randoms on the slopes.

Really wish Microsoft had expanded on the formula of this game but they went with a stylized cartoony version for Amped 3.

    • There’s just so many fantastic titles on the original xbox.

Snowboarding games don’t seem to be as popular as they used to be, although a new snowboarding title was announced at E3 – Shredders. It’s a Xbox Series X|S console exclusive and it may be coming to Game Pass… although don’t hold me to that one!
