We dedicate Episode 89 to a whole host of Nintendo news. From worrying reports that Nintendo Wii U consoles are rotting away while being left in storage, to a surprise Metroid release on the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack.
First up, the bad news. Some fans of Nintendo’s follow up to the Wii have discovered that they’re unable to boot up their consoles successfully. While it’s unknown the exact reason, it appears to be degrading NAND storage chips – perhaps it’s time to get your old console down and out of the loft? Unfortunately, the bad news doesn’t stop there as players of the latest Pokémon titles have been reporting their save games becoming corrupted after updating to the latest version of Scarlet and Violet.
Next up we move on to some more positive news with the announcement of a new Nintendo Switch bundle to celebrate MAR10 Day (or March 10th for those who didn’t already know). Plus LEGO announce their own MAR10 Day livestream.
Finally we take a look at a duo of Matroid announcements. Firstly the recently release Metroid Prime Remaster has claimed to the number two spot in the UK’s game chart, despite being sold out in many stores. This was then followed up with the surprise release of the Game Boy Advance exclusive Metroid Fusion, the follow up to the SNES classic – Super Metroid.
